When a couple tells you at your first meeting that, yes it would be beautiful to have an outdoor wedding, but that theirs will be in a church because some people attending the wedding may very well never step into a church if it weren’t for their wedding, and that they wanted to use their ceremony to witness to them, you instantly get goosebumps and fall in love with the couple. This is Claire and Scott. Two people who love each other and their family and friends fiercely, but they ultimately love God more. Scott and Claire left our house that night and I turned to Mike, as I shut the door, and said “I love them!” They just have something about them that makes you feel like you’ve been their greatest friends, even though you’ve just met. To say we were excited when they chose us to be their photographers would be an understatement.
Joy and excitement just radiated from Claire the entire day. One of my favorite parts of the day was during the ceremony as the pastor read a letter that Claire’s mom had written to her for her 13th birthday along with the gift of a purity ring. It was one of the most beautiful letters I’ve ever heard and I had to sneak myself to the back of the church as tears flowed down my cheeks. Scott had the privilege to remove Claire’s purity ring and place her wedding band in its place. What a beautiful symbol of love! As you can imagine, I was a heaping pile of tears.
Claire and Scott, I hope you don’t mind but Mike and I have adopted ourselves into your family. We love you both and it has been SUCH an honor to witness a love like yours. We hope you are having the best time on your honeymoon! Enjoy a few of our favorites from your beautiful wedding day!
