Mike and I met Darlene and Austin for the first time at their engagement session. Usually we meet our couples before this but these two live in Pittsburgh, so it was a little tougher to get together. It was great to finally hang out with them and chat about all things life and weddings. They will be having their wedding in York this October and Mike and I can’t wait to be there.
Mike and I were so excited for Patty and Andrew! You see, I’ve known Patty and her family since I was in second grade. Her older sister Teresa and I were inseparable throughout elementary school. So you can bet I was super excited when Patty contacted me last year about shooting her and Andrews wedding. It was so great getting to see her family again and I loved getting to meet Andrew through all of this. The two of them are just so sweet together.
Yesterday, Mike and I hosted my family at our place for an Easter dinner. As Mike and my Grandma were both in the kitchen cooking, I was spending my time decorating the table. This is my happy place. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy cooking, but if I have the choice, I would pick decorating any day over cooking. I wanted the table to look Spring/Easter like but Easter decorations are so cheesy and pretty ugly. I’m not a huge fan of plastic eggs, colored tinsel, and bunny rabbits. Honestly, when did that stuff start to represent Easter anyway?!
4 years ago today, I woke up feeling the most anxious, nervous and excited I have ever felt in my life. You know that feeling when you are so excited about something you feel sick to your stomach… maybe that’s just me haha. Four years ago today I was getting ready to marry my best friend. Getting ready to move into a new house. Getting ready to start new adventures.
