I love entertaining and what better excuse then Valentine’s Day :) Mike and I had a couple of our friends over the day after Valentine’s Day for a little get together. I have a lot of fun decorating and had a great time putting together the table decorations for this little party. As I was setting everything up I told Mike that I could totally decorate tables for a living! It’s SO fun. Also, I found almost everything for the table at the Dollar Tree so it was next to nothing to put together… even more fun! Mike responded with the “You can do whatever you want to Hun”. So, he was pretty much telling me that if this whole photography thing stops working out I can decorate tables, right?! I wanted the table to be a fun and relaxed setting that wasn’t over the top with hearts and pink. I am totally NOT a pink and hearts kind of girl! I love the way everything turned out and I can’t wait to have our next party!

The very first time I spoke with Jess on the phone she asked if I thought it was possible for them to get their engagement session done in the snow. I knew it would be possible but I thought it would take a little more timing and scheduling then what it did. Manny will be leaving soon for schooling with the Army so we didn’t have much time to get the engagements in before their wedding. Jess emailed me on a Thursday asking what our Saturday and Sunday looked like and thankfully it was free! Also… they were calling for snow both Saturday AND Sunday! As Mike and I drove to meet Jess and Manny fresh snow was falling… how perfect!!

Wow, what a year 2013 was! My favorite part of this job is the amazing couples we get to meet and man did we meet some amazing couples this year! I love getting to be a part of peoples lives during this happy time. By the end of a wedding day I feel like we are part of the family and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. 2013 brought SO many amazing couples, families and friends into our lives that we would have never gotten to know otherwise. When I look over these images of the weddings we were so blessed to capture, it makes my heart swell with joy. A huge thank you to all of our amazing couples for welcoming us into your lives!

Alicia, Ali’s sister, contacted me several months ago about photographing Ali and Mike’s winter wedding. We use to attend church with Alicia and her family and Alicia is also a photographer, so I was honored when she asked us to take the photos for her baby sister’s wedding. We don’t often have weddings in December so I was pretty excited. There is so much you can with a winter themed wedding!
