Mike and I packed up and left this snowy winter wonderland the last week in February to head to a photography conference put on by our website and online gallery companies (Showit and PASS). I’ve still been trying to wrap my mind around our time in Santa Barbara, CA for the United Conference… It was a week full of inspiration, learning and meeting tons of wonderful people! I was nervous before we left because I had no idea what to expect… I was just imagining Mike and I as that weird couple who stands in the corner and just watches everyone else chatting and having fun!

Goodness gracious I’m behind on blogging! I can’t believe it’s taken me THIS long to blog about our coaching session with THE Katelyn James! In January Mike and I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with one of the sweetest most humble, caring and amazingly talented photographer in this industry. I have been following Katelyn’s work for several years now and to say I was excited to spend the day with her is a slight understatement haha! The day we were supposed to leave for VA it snowed close to 8 inches and Mike and I were stuck…. I called Katelyn and told her that we wouldn’t be able to make it there for our scheduled time the next day. I was SO bummed! Thankfully everything worked out for us to meet with her and Michael the day after :)

I love entertaining and what better excuse then Valentine’s Day :) Mike and I had a couple of our friends over the day after Valentine’s Day for a little get together. I have a lot of fun decorating and had a great time putting together the table decorations for this little party. As I was setting everything up I told Mike that I could totally decorate tables for a living! It’s SO fun. Also, I found almost everything for the table at the Dollar Tree so it was next to nothing to put together… even more fun! Mike responded with the “You can do whatever you want to Hun”. So, he was pretty much telling me that if this whole photography thing stops working out I can decorate tables, right?! I wanted the table to be a fun and relaxed setting that wasn’t over the top with hearts and pink. I am totally NOT a pink and hearts kind of girl! I love the way everything turned out and I can’t wait to have our next party!

I hope all of you are enjoying the season. I know this time of year can be busy and crazy but try to remember to take a deep breath and look past all of those to-do lists and focus on what really matters most. Time with friends and family are the highest on my what matters most list. It’s so easy to get caught up in the cookie making and the gift wrapping that we sometimes forget to actually enjoy this season. Mike and I are getting ready for some time off.
