ecause we are wedding photographers there isn’t usually a lot of time for vacations over the summer. We’ve had a pretty busy year so far and it won’t be slowing down for another couple of months. Mike and I definitely needed a little time to get away and relax. My Aunt and Uncle own a cabin in Caledonia State Park, which is only about an hour and a half away from us. Far enough away to feel like your on vacation but close enough that you aren’t driving for half a day :) We lucky found a weekend with no weddings or engagements, so last Thursday after Mike got home from work we packed the car and were off. We didn’t have much planned for our long weekend at the cabin but we were excited.

Three years ago today I was anxiously waiting to walk down the aisle and say “I do”. I can’t believe it’s been three years already. Time really does go faster the older you get. I feel like I can remember that time in our lives like it was yesterday. All the planning and only seeing each other on the weekends. I will always have fond memories of that time in our lives but I’m thrilled with where we are now. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for us. I know God has BIG things planned for us… I can just tell :)

Dear Mike,

This is the 5th March 14th that we have celebrated in the 6 years we have been together. Things have certainly changed quite a bit in these last 6 years as a couple. Man, where does the time go?! I’m sitting here trying to think back to your birthday 5 years ago and I can’t seem to remember anything about it. You have become so much a part of my life that I don’t remember life before you.

One of my goals for the business this year was to blog more frequently…. seems to be working out well, right? I have been absent from blogging for what feels like forever! Even though this is our slow season we have been busy busy busy. I feel like so much has happened since my last blog post so I’ll try to catch you up.
